VOLUNTEERS

Adult Volunteers

There are many ways you can volunteer at the Library. Any and all skills are needed, and the times that you can volunteer are flexible enough to suit any schedule. Some of the jobs volunteers do are: shelf reading (making sure the right books are on the right shelves), deleting of books, processing of new books, straightening of shelves and special as-needed projects.

If you are an adult who can regularly volunteer time, at least 2 hours a week on a regular basis for a minimum of 3 months, please fill out a volunteer application online or pick one up at the Public Services Desk.

Your application will be reviewed, and you will be contacted within 30 days to set up an initial appointment with our Volunteer Coordinator. To be accepted as a Library Volunteer, the City of Benicia requires that you complete a second, more lengthy application and consent to a background inquiry by way of Live Scan (fingerprinting). This second application and information about Live Scan will be provided to you at your appointment with the Volunteer Coordinator.
