Located in Montgomery, Alabama, the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, a.k.a. the Lynching Museum, commemorates the thousands of Black victims of racial terror lynching whose names otherwise may have been lost to history forever.
Join presenter Mary Waters in the Doña Benicia Room to explore the cultural and economic forces that gave rise to the era of lynching; view scenes from the Memorial; discover more about our Nation's troubled history from enslavement to Jim Crow to the Civil Rights Movement and beyond. The presentation will last approximately 75 minutes, followed by a discussion.
In the Library's Doña Benicia Room.
