Library Partnership Update: St. Helena Public Library:

What is changing? Beginning March 16, our Library and St. Helena Public Library will transition from our current partnership as part of an effort to reduce delivery costs. St. Helena Public Library has decided to join the Napa County Library system, which offers a more practical delivery arrangement given the increasing costs of transporting materials between St. Helena and Solano County.

Can I still get St. Helena items through the Benicia Public Library? Yes. But you will need to request materials through our Link+ interlibrary loan service. Start Date to be announced.

Can I still borrow materials from St. Helena? Beginning March 16, your Benicia Public Library card won’t allow you to check out St. Helena items. You will need a St. Helena library card to check out materials from the St. Helena library.

Can I place holds on St. Helena items? No.  Beginning March 16, holds cannot be placed between the two libraries.

Can I renew St. Helena items? No, St. Helena items will not renew if you have a Benicia Public Library card.

How do I return my St. Helena items? You may return St. Helena items at the Benicia Public Library or any Solano County Library branch until July 1.

What happens to holds placed before March 16? Holds placed before March 16 will still be filled if the items are available. However, beginning March 16, those items will not be able to be checked out on a Benicia Public Library card.

Who can I contact with questions? Please contact your local branch. We’re happy to help.
