"Your Library, Your Card" Art Contest

Congratulations to the winners! Cards available this fall.

We received over 150 submissions to be featured on upcoming new library cards. We pored over all the entries and are excited to announce the winners! If you need a library card, check back this September to choose one of these wonderful selections. Congratulations, all!

Sana Paniagua (Under 10) "Boom the Cat’s Flower Garden”

Sana loves cats but does not have one. Boom is her imaginary cat who likes to sit in the garden and enjoy flowers and book. We’ve heard that Boom has also visited the Library.

Claire Hebert (Under 10) “Fun + Happy”

Claire designed this card because “people always get boring ones, so I thought I would do a fun card!”

Reese Ex (10-13) “Books Let Us Bloom”

Reese believes this sends an important message to people about books.

Francine Mader (14-17) “A Bookworm’s Imagination”

This drawing illustrates the feeling of reading a good book, and it shows how you can be transported to another world when reading.

Eden Denevan (Adult) "Check out Your Next Adventure”

Eden designed this card to be cute and represent diversity.

Greer Gray (Adult) "House of Inspiration”

Greer wanted to “capture the way our Library makes us feel – comfortable, safe & inspired. We go to the Library when we want to learn something new or to find inspiration from the pages of a book. It has become our home away from home.”

Lucha Libro (Adult) “Slam in the Stacks”

This card showcases something distinctly Benicia: a nationally recognized program that blends literacy, storytelling, and live professional wrestling in a way few libraries have attempted.

Shams Tantawy (Adult) “Palm Breeze at Benicia”

Shams' design features the Benicia Waterfront, showing calm water and palm trees that add warmth and character, reflecting a peaceful place to read and relax while connecting the library to the community and celebrating Benicia’s identity in a welcoming, meaningful way.
