Since we have installed the new version of Supersearch, 10,000 holds have been placed to bring books to our SNAP (Solano, Napa, and Partners) patrons from Marin and Sonoma Counties, and to send our SNAP items to patrons in Marin and Sonoma Counties!!!

Solano County Workforce Investment Board provides job listings for the Library's Job Binder.  It is updated with a variety  of job listings including locations such as Sacramento, Oakland and Solano and Marin Counties just to name a few.  Updates are made  daily (except on weekends).  So,if you are looking for a job or a job fair or job training, come take a look at the Job Binder.  Photocopy the pages you are interested in and let us help you find a job.

Benicia Poet Laureate Selection Committee: Two openings

Would you like to help select the next Benicia Poet Laureate?  (Application deadline is April 1, 2010.)

The Benicia Library Board of Trustees is now accepting applications for the Poet Laureate Selection committee.  The five-member committee screens applications for the post of Benicia Poet Laureate and recommends a candidate to the Library Board for appointment in June 2010.  Meetings take place as necessary, at a time to be determined at the committee's first meeting. 

Women and Social Movements Website

For the month of March, Alexander Street is allowing their popular website Women and Social Movements in the Unites States, 1600-2000, to be viewable free and without passwords to the public.  Take this opportunity to explore this collection of primary materials and teaching tools.  The freedom goes away April 1.

Daylight saving time starts this year on the second Sunday of March and yes, that means this Sunday!  Don't forget to change your clocks before you go to bed on Saturday so you're not late to all your Sunday events!
